The "Great"est Nanny Ever

Today Sophie, Aunt Jodi, Uncle Seth and I went to visit with Nanny.  On the train ride, Sophie had a great time coloring her new Einsteins book.

When we arrived, we went into the Rec Room at Nanny's "Home", Sophie played the piano for everyone who would listen.  Sophie was very proud of her music.

Then it was time to show Nanny her great art skills.  They discussed colors, and characters, and had quite a conversation!

Thankfully Nanny looked great, and Sophie was amazing considering she only had a brief 20 minute nap. We are very lucky...she's such a great girl! xoxo

So Many Posts, So Little Time

Over the weekend, Aunt Jessica stopped by for a visit.  Here are Sophie and Jessica taking a fast photo before Sophie squirms away!

Yesterday was playgroup day!  Our favorite!  Usually all the kids play and jump in a crib, but, Caleb has a big boy bed.  All the kids thought this was MUCH more fun!

Sophie was really excited about all of the toys that Caleb has.  Here she is playing so nicely by herself.  A first!

Nur, Nur.....

It was so funny, I am even having trouble typing it.  We were at playgroup having a wonderful time, when two Mommies started to nurse their babies.  Sophie went over to the pack n' play and asked for the baby and the blanket.

She proceeded to hold the baby up to her chest, cover the baby's head with a blanket and nurse the baby.  She was even very expressive in telling everyone what she was doing. Look how focused and serious she is.

We couldn't stop laughing.

We had such fun.  Sophie continued to multitask and carry around the pocketbook and her baby.

Uh, what will she do next?  Love that girl!!

High School Friends.....all grown up!

It's funny to think that I have known these women since we were in middle school.  I can truly say, "I knew you when", and "I know things that no one else knows"...Look at us today..

Not only are we all grown up, but successful and Mommies!
Here is attempt #1 to have all the kiddies smile....

A bit blurry, but you get the idea!

After a nice nap, we headed to the park to play.  Sophie had a great time hanging on the monkey bars  Isn't she amazing?!

M-I-C-K-E-Y !

As most of you now, Sophie is not such a morning person.  Our day started out as usual, a snuggle in bed with Mommy and Daddy....well, atleast in Mommy's spot....but little did she know....a surprise was soon to come.  All Sophie knew was that we were headed to New Jersey!

We're Here!  We arrived at 100 Years of Disney, Magic on Ice early to get our tickets.  Center Ice, row 3, seat 13 and 14...we couldn't be any better situated for a fantastic show!

The show started, and we were all excited.  Sophie couldn't take her eyes off of Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Daisy. Until....Aladdin and the Genie appeared.  Sophie has never seen dancing blue Genie's before and they scared the socks off of her.

Sophie and I spent most of the first half all the way in the back only making a brief enterance into the arena to see the Princesses, It's a Small World and Minnie!

She was super happy during lunch, and loves her new Minnie doll.

Five minutes into the second half, the waterworks started again, and homeward bound we were.  Sophie loved spinning on the stools more than Disney on Ice.

What would an afternoon be without a Family Classic shot.

Guess we could have opted for the cheap seats, huh?

Peller Fun

On a cold sunday, we headed downtown to play with our friends, and have a bagel brunch.  Sophie and Josie could not get enough of the cream cheese on the bagel.  They were covered in white by the time they were finished eating...Yummy!

Julie and Brian surprised Josh with a birthday cake.  Here are the girls, trying to wait patiently for some chocolate cake.  Sophie ate two bites and left the rest of her cake over.  She said she was all done.  Could she really be my child?

Reconnecting with old friends

Saturday night was a super-fun night! Sophie, Josh and I reconnected with some old friends that have relocated to Westchester from NYC.  It was really great to see our friends, and for Sophie to see hers!

The girls (only 6 weeks apart), couldn't stop hugging eachother.  I was really cute to see how excited they all were to play!  I predict many future playdates!

Robyn was happy that we came.  A little snuggle with the girls.

And a little snuggle for Robyn! P.S. Robyn: Your new home is beautiful.  Maybe we'll join you in the 'burbs soon!

What were you eating?

Saturday mornings are always reserved for a little "D & D", Daddy and Daughter time.  Josh took Sophie to my-gym for a little fun.  For the first time, Sophie accepted hand stamps for her great work--figures this is what would happen.  Sophie woke up from her nap...with blue all over her face.

She thinks it's pretty funny too!

A Busy Birthday

Jan. 7th is Josh's birthday, but before the festivities began, we had to play! At the Transit Museum in Grand Central Station, they had a special train exhibit.  Sophie and her friends really wanted to see the "choo-choos" before the exhibit ended.  Sophie and Narinn loved to watch the trains go around and around!

Sophie enjoyed the Polar Express train the most....there it goes!  And, yes, Sophie was lucky enough to pick out a wooden train to take home.  Anyone surprised?

Sophie and I started our day nice and early by getting breakfast so we could eat together before Josh headed off to work. As soon as he was gone, the cake baking began. Sophie's measuring expertise really came in handy! Here is a balloon that we bought to help make the apartment more festive.

First we baked, then iced, then patted on the coconut, and finally placed ALL of those candles.  35 to be exact (1 for good luck!) Imagine how long that took!

What would a birthday be without a "classic" shot.  Happy Birthday Honey!!

Before we could dig in, and Sophie kept asking for chocolate cake, Josh had to blow out the candles and make a wish.  Hope it comes true!!

Measuring Up

Today was a very busy and social day for me and Sophie. We started with a fun My-Gym class.  Sophie decided that her yellow and blue measuring cups would tag along today for every activity.  Here is Sophie, Emily and blue measuring cup catching air on the trampoline.

At playgroup today, Teddy, showed Sophie his really cool garage that he received for christmas.  Sophie really loved playing with all of the cars and of course, her boy Teddy. Her measuring cups waited patiently in the stroller.

Christmas in Rockefeller Center

Every year before they take down the Christmas Tree in Rockefeller Center, we like to take a subway ride down to look at the "yights". Sophie was fascinated by the tree, and even more so by Minnie Mouse.

Minnie was randomly hanging out on the corner waving at the kids.  Sophie was super-excited, so we stopped for a picture.  Unfortunately, a police officer approached afterwards, and made Minnie do the perp-walk.  Back to Disney she did go--with her tips!!

Heading Home-Saturday Jan. 2, 2010

Before heading home, Daddy took us on a brief tour of Boston, and Sophie really wanted to ride the choo-choo.  Here they are riding the T to the public gardens.

Don't the gardens look beautiful covered in snow? Our first classic family shot of 2010.

We tried to visit with many of our friends and family while we were in town. We enjoyed our dinner with the Whelan family on friday night and were thrilled that Cousin Elisabeth was able to join us for brunch!

On the walk back from Brunch, Sophie discovered the moving stairs, commonly known as an escalator.  She rode up and down the escalator twice, and laughed the whole time.  Oh, the little things....

It was long drive through the snow back to NY.  So, why not stop to visit with more cousins to remove the ants from our pants. Sophie LOVES her Zevvy and Nono.

At last, we are home and well rested. What a great trip!
Someone needs to do the laundry from the weekend.  Thanks Sophie!

Winter Classic Fun- Friday, Jan. 1, 2010

While Sophie napped at the hotel, Josh and I went to the Winter Classic Hockey Game.  It was amazing.  Through a friend, we had Box seats sitting with the NHL Commissioner. Doesn't the green monster look bizarre with hockey stats?

I have been to Fenway twice so far.  Once to see a Yankee vs. Red Sox game, and once to watch ice hockey.  At least they paid proper tribute to the baseball stadium and of course, the pitchers mound!

Home team, Boston Bruins, win!  My home-team streak contines!

The Scoreboard.
